Profile

Somehow, either by luck or strategy, Evan has carved out a pretty good existence. After learning to ski and climb in the mountainous region of the New York City suburbs, Evan escaped the gravity of the megalopolis and a standard 9 to 5 job. With a very liberal arts college education that tended to focus more on learning to rock climb and ski tour in Vermont, he left the east coast for climbing seasons of avoiding rangers in Camp 4, Yosemite, splitters in Indian Creek, and beating the heat with long routes in Squamish. Winters were spent avalanche forecasting for the Utah Avalanche Center (read: government job which pays you to ski tour). One summer, he met his wife Jasmin, beating away the other single climbing bums to score his dream girl: a cute, hard climbing, ski touring canadian, whose family owned a backcountry ski lodge. With her (and the lodge) as his motivation, he gained his IFMGA Mountain Guide certification and changed careers to be a full time Mountain Guide. Now Evan can be found in Squamish, BC in the summers and the Valhallas in the winter, trying to send some hard multi-pitch traditional route on the chief, or sniffing out the latest first descent with his wife setting the pace and his dog Benny in tow.
